You may wonder - what is the difference between the Next Steps awards and others awards, scholarship or grant programs? What makes the Next Steps Awards unique? Great question. 

What are the Next Steps Awards not based on?

First, the awards are not mark based. 

Second, the awards are not based on future academic achievement - as in you don't have to maintain a certain grade average to receive the awards. 

What are the Next Steps awards based on? 

First, the awards are based on Leadership and initiative. 

Second, the awards are based on expression of interest towards the exploration of the Christian faith and its connection to future studies. This can be from many different angles and the awards is open to people who do not self identify as Christians (see FAQ). 

These awards - over 100+ awards totalling up to $50,000 are given to people based on those two realms. 

Thirdly, there are awards for people entering post secondary and awards for people having "new beginnings"  - new school or new program!
