Next Steps Awards

Eligibility Criteria: 

These awards are available to all of the following:

• Applicants who are enrolling into their first year of a post-secondary institution in Canada in the fall of 2025

• Residents of Canada (living in Canada at the time of application)

• International students who have a Canadian address at the time of application. You are welcomed and encouraged to apply!

• Students already enrolled in a post-secondary institution but beginning afresh in a new institution or degree

• (Quebec) Students applying to CEGEP: 

Children of Power to Change employees are ineligible. Sorry!

Selection Process

1. Applications will be assessed in light of an applicant’s willingness to engage in:

   1. Leadership and initiative

   2. Exploring the Christian faith and preparing for life as a post-secondary study. 

2. References will be used to support the applicants reflections. 

Timeline and Deferrals

1st Application Deadline: May 13, 2025 at 11:59 p.m. PST

1. References due: May 20, 2025

2. Awarded: June 2025

3. 2nd Application Deadline: August 19, 2025 at 11:59 p.m. PST

   1. References due: August 26, 2025

   2. Awarded: September 2025

   3. Note: applicants not selected for an award following the 1st application deadline are automatically also enrolled in the pool for for the 2nd deadline. Applicant can receive a maxim of one award. 
      
      

4. Funds will be issued in October 2025, pending Proof of Enrolment

5. Awards can be deferred for one school year in special circumstances.
